About Matt Smart
Construction projects, whether residential builds or large-scale developments, are complex undertakings that demand experience, clarity, and collaboration. With over 30 years in the building industry, I’ve worked across every stage of the construction process. From design and estimating, to on-site project management and stakeholder coordination.
Throughout my career, I’ve partnered with architects, councils and authorities to keep budgets on track and builds running smoothly. I’ve helped deliver major developments such as Rhodes Waterside (valued at $900 million), Collins Square in Melbourne ($1.8 billion), and the Kew Cottages redevelopment, which saw over 200 homes built, each valued between $1.2 and $3.2 million.
After 17 years working on large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects, I made the decision to focus more personally on delivering value for clients. Building strong partnerships and managing their projects from concept through to handover. Today, through Alcheringa Project Management, I help clients bring their ideas to life with clear advice, solid planning, and a commitment to quality.
